With regular flights to the nearest airport, Faro, and even more to Lisbon , only 2 hours 30 minutes away, access is easy. The nearest town is Lagoa ; Carvoeiro is about 4 km south and is well sign-posted. There are good new motorways in Portugal ; the A2 connects Lisbon with the Algarve and the A22 runs right along the Algarve . 

Driving Directions from Faro to Carvoeiro

Please note on page 4 of directions, the very first instructions “after 200 metres the Carvoeiro road splits”, there is now a roundabout, where you should take the second exit, towards Carvoeiro.

From the sign “Praia do Carveiro” follow the one way system until you reach the square, turn left here, the (Hotel Carvoeiro Sol should now be directly in front of you – blue and white building), go directly ahead up the hill (hotel should now be on your right hand side as you pass it), you will pass restaurants, bars and the Hotel Mirachoro (set back from the road on your left hand side).

Once passed the hotel, take the first turning right “Rua das Flores” (Primaveira Restaurant) on the corner. Go directly to the end of this road, the sea and cliffs will be directly in front of you – following the coast road around to the right.

Follow this road, looking out for a church on your left and school on your right – head down the hill looking to your right for the signs of Casa Brigitte – now Casa Luiz.
